Legal & data handling.
Tenlo’s Support Chatbot runs an AI chat widget on your website, ingests content you provide as a knowledge base, and stores conversation transcripts so you can review them later. A few documents govern how the product handles your data and your visitors’ data.
Governing documents
- Privacy policy — how Tenlo collects, stores and processes data, including US state privacy laws (CCPA/CPRA) where they apply. tenloai.com/privacy
- Terms of service — the contract between you and Tenlo AI Inc. tenloai.com/terms
- Data processing addendum (DPA) — for customers who need one for their own compliance. Tenlo acts as a processor for the visitor data your widget collects; you remain the controller.
- Subprocessors — the AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Mistral for OCR), hosting, and search providers Tenlo uses to deliver the Support Chatbot are listed in the DPA and on the website.
What you should do on your side
Because the widget runs on your domain and stores conversation transcripts, most teams add a short line to their own privacy policy noting that an AI-powered chat assistant is in use and that conversations may be stored to answer questions and improve responses.
Transcript privacy
Transcripts are stored against your account. Visitors don’t see them. Tenlo support can see them when you ask for help diagnosing — otherwise they live in your dashboard only.
See The Conversations inbox for the operator-facing mechanics.
AI training
Tenlo uses Anthropic’s and OpenAI’s enterprise endpoints, which prohibit training on customer data. Your KB content, visitor conversations, and configuration are never used to train AI models — Anthropic’s, OpenAI’s, Tenlo’s, or anyone else’s.
OCR for scanned PDFs uses Mistral OCR; the same enterprise-tier no-training stance applies.
Data retention and deletion
- While your subscription is active — FAQs, ingested documents, conversation transcripts and KB indexes are retained for the life of your account.
- When you cancel your subscription — the widget on your site stops responding (returns an error). Your data is automatically purged 90 days after cancellation, including conversation transcripts, FAQs, and your knowledge-base index.
- Immediate deletion — email hello@tenloai.com to request earlier deletion.
Cross-product data sharing
The 100-document KB cap is shared with the Sales Assistant (P05). Documents themselves are scoped to the product they were ingested into — a PDF uploaded to the chatbot KB is not visible to the Sales Assistant and vice-versa — but slot accounting spans both.
